Situated in the heart of the Camargue, we are aware that we live in an exceptional, but also fragile, natural environment. As inhabitants of this wild land, we are responsible for protecting it. Although our building was not self-built by our predecessors, today we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint as much as possible: reducing waste, setting up sorting systems, short distribution channels, using eco-responsible materials…
LOCATION
Le Mas de la Fouque est situé aux Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, capitale de la Camargue, dans les Bouches-du-Rhône. Aux portes du Gard, nous sommes à seulement 1h de Montpellier et Nîmes, 1h30 de Marseille et 3h de Lyon.
L’accès en voiture est facile par la Départementale 38.
ENVIRONMENT
Embraced by the meandering Rhône, Mas de la Fouque lies at the heart of the Camargue, an area where sky, land and sea combine to create a masterpiece of nature. White horses and black bulls provide the most astonishing contrasts in a palette of colours dominated by the pink of the salt flats and flamingos, the green of the pastures and the blue of the waves.
Man and nature live together in harmony, working together for thousands of years to create an exceptional panorama and the outlines of remarkable towns: Aigues-Mortes, les Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, Arles…
The Camargue is also a land of character with a strong identity. That of the gardians who fiercely protect their part of the world and work every day to maintain their traditions. Water, rice, salt, wine… they feed on the essentials and share the light of their culture and the richness of their land.
In this unspoilt area, nature comes to meet visitors as they cross the sandy soil or sail along the water’s edge. The remarkable flora and fauna that have chosen this wild land to flourish have made no mistake: the Camargue offers a haven for all those who want to stop time for a weekend, a week, or a lifetime.
